Voyeurism - good use of close ups and varied shots and visuals.
Genre Characteristics - was typical to the genre of track used. Good use of location and costumes...
Visuals/musics - matched tempo of music. editing was good with changing scenes and shots.
Visuals/lyrics - good use of actions and linked to lyrics, lip syncing was in time and worked well.
Intertextuality - no ref to anything else, there was no need.
Need to sell the artist - close ups of group and individually, good outfits that are timeless and classic.
Conclusion
As a group we think the video worked well and looks like a proper video that could be used today. The editing worked well and showed good skills and you can see time and effort was put into it.

The video sold the artist well, as the camera was always focused on them performing without the audience having to lose focus on other aspects of the video. This also was a very conventional video for the genre of the song.

In this video they used lots of voyeurism as it was completely focused quite close up on the three girls. They were all wearing pretty dresses and boys would be attracted to them.

There actions fitted with the lyrics for example it is a slow paced ballad, so it had them walking and not doing anything too drastic or over the top actions.

As the versus change so does the location, and girl. This also sells the artist as all 3 girls get close ups on their own. The lip syncing also fitted with the music which made it look more convincing.

Final Preliminary Video

We found that our preliminary task was reasonably easy and turned out to be a success despite the fact that some of our footage was not captured due to a malfunction with the camera. It was helpful that our friend agreed to help us with such short notice as well because she filmed for us as Ben was absent that day. We learnt that you have to make sure you get the miming perfect because otherwise the whole clip looks stupid. We also learnt that we need to capture lots of footage of the whole song in case we change our minds on how we want the clip to look.

Storyboards and Shot Lists

In our music video we have asked our friend abi to be filmed with us as we needed a third person to sing with us. We will all be wearing maxi dresses and we will use a range of shots to vary the time between the three of us. We have chosen several locations to film in. These are all based around the outside section of college. We wanted to make it seem natural as thats the vibe we got from watching the actual video of the song. Here are some pictures of it.
